Abstract

An alternative way to chemical control of Meloidogyne incognita on tomato plant was evaluated by using five plant extracts including Ananas comosus, Artemisia annua, Melia azedarach, Costus speciosus and Strychnos nux-vomica. All the plant extracts applied by soil drench, reduced nematode infestation and promoted plant growth. Plant extracts treatment on tomato had increased significant resistance to M. incognita infestation in terms of reduced root galling, J2 in root and soil and increased biomass in terms of shoot length, shoot weight and root length. Though root length significantly increased in all the treated groups but root weight significantly decreased in these groups except S. nux-vomica treated group.
