This paper describes and illustrates a new teratocephalid species, Teratocephalus indicus sp. n. collected from India. Teratocephalus indicus sp. n. is characterised by a small-sized body, coarsely striated cuticle having 14–16 longitudinal lines; lateral fields with two protuberant ridges; lip region setoff, lips leaf-like with deep cuticularised axils running almost the whole lip length, supported by strongly sclerotised borders with conical apical ends; pharyngeal corpus cylindrical; female reproductive system monoprodelphic with a post-uterine sac and an anterior diverticulum; tail long attenuated ending into a fine bifid terminus and absence of males.
