A new species of Sachsia Meyl, 1960 is described and illustrated. S. postpapillata sp. n. was isolated from farmyard manure collected from Aligarh, India. S. postpapillata sp. n. has L= 492–539 μm, a = 19.9–21.6, b = 6.9–7.7, c = 4.2–4.9, c’= 9.3–11 and V = 44 46.9%. Cuticle has prominent longitudinal ridges and fine transverse striations with equally spaced dot-like punctations. Buccal cavity is bipartite with cheilostom about as long as gymnostom and stegostom with small pointed dorsal tooth. Female reproductive system amphidelphic. Spicules arcuate ventrally with rounded capitulum, broad lamina with finely rounded distal tips, a boatshaped gubernaculum with lateral flaps distally and nine pairs of genital papillae. This is the first report of this genus from India.
