The present study was aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of cell-free culture filtrates of Pochonia chlamydosporia, Trichoderma harzianum, T. virens, Bacillus subtilis, and Pseudomonas fluorescens on the hatching of eggs and juvenile mortality of Meloidogyne incognita in vitro, and on the galling, egg mass production, plant growth of chickpea under pot conditions using the nematode inoculum level at 2000 juveniles/kg soil. The treatments with cell-free culture filtrates of P. chlamydosporia, B. subtilis, P. fluorescens and T. harzianum exerted strong ovicidal and nematicidal effects, significantly suppressing the egg hatching, inducing the mortality to the juveniles of M. incognita, reducing the galling, and egg mass production, and enhancing the plant growth of chickpea. The findings have highlighted the potential of above biocontrol agents as eco-friendly components of integrated nematode management in pulse-based cropping systems.
