Abstract

CdS nanoparticle thin films have been prepared by sol-gel spin coating method. The effect of annealing on the properties of the prepared CdS nanocrystalline films has been studied. The structure of the nanocrystalline thin film has been studied using X-ray diffraction and High Resolution Transmission Electron Microscope (HRTEM) techniques. The grain size has been found to be in the range 5 to 7 nm. The crystallite size has been found to improve with increase in annealing temperature. The surface topography of the films has been studied using atomic force microscope.
