Nanomaterials are the base components for the nanotechnology, which is seeking to exploit distinct technological advances of controlling the structure of materials at a reduced dimensional scale approaching individual molecules and their organized aggregates or supramolecular structures. The nanometer-length (10−9) scale is creating possibilities of novel materials that can be used for the construction of devices and systems to generate services to humankind. Knowledge and advances in nanoscience is sets the stage for an exciting supplementary role for the existing technology in life sciences particularly at the sub-microscopic level. In this review article, the panorama of various (novel) carbon nanomaterials, their structures, classes, applications germane to medicine are discussed in depth.
