Abstract

Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy is a frequently performed procedure that can cause anxiety related to disappointing expectations, embarrassment and fear of discomfort. So this study aimed to impart Planned Nursing Intervention through structured teaching programme to patient undergoing Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in preoperative unit in order to allay the anxiety level of the patient prior to the procedure about the painful procedure, what they see, hear and feel during Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
