Organ shortage for transplantation is one of the most crucial problems worldwide. In this situation organ donation have a great role to solve this problem. Patients deemed fit for transplantation often wait expectantly for a donor organ. As organ donation plays a major role in saving lives and nurses identify and secure potential organ donors in the clinical environment, it is essential to assess the knowledge and attitude towards organ donation among nursing students. Considering this fact a descriptive study was conducted to assess the knowledge and attitude towards organ donation among nursing students in a selected college, Thrissur. The objectives of the study were to assess the level of knowledge towards organ donation among nursing students, to assess the level of attitude towards organ donation among nursing students, to correlate the knowledge with attitude, to associate the level of knowledge and attitude towards organ donation with their selected demographic variables. 90 samples were selected by the simple random sampling technique using lottery method. Tools used for collecting data were demographic profile of nursing students, knowledge questionaire regarding organ donation and a five point likert scale. The result revealed that majority nursing students have moderate level (86.7%) of knowledge with mean score of 14.16 and all the students have positive attitude towards of organ donation with a mean score of 64.27. The study findings also revealed that there was a weak positive correlation exists between knowledge with attitude towards organ donation with r value of 0.12 and it is not significant at 0.05 level. And there was no association of level of knowledge and attitude with their selected demographic variables at 0.05 level.
