Effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding effect of electronic media among school going children (6–12 years) at st. benedict school, Anchapalya, Bangalore

Television is omnipresent in most of children's world. Mobile use and television are become popular among children and some promote addictive behaviour and intimate interpersonal relationships¹. The purpose of the study is to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on the effect of electronic media among school going children. Pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design was used in 30 samples. Statistical analysis of data revealed that the pre-test mean was 9, and standard deviation was 2.449 and mean percentage was 30.the post test score showed that the mean was 13.73 with standard deviation 3.279 and mean percentage was 45.7. The paired t test was carried out ant it was found to be invariably significant at t= 12.70 level. The chi square showed that there is significant association with demographic variables such as age, sex, family and religion and level pf knowledge regarding effect of electronic media among school going children. Findings of study reveals that structured teaching programme can make significant rise in knowledge levels school going children.
