A study to assess the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge of nursing personnel regarding quality assurance in nursing services at krishna rajendra hospital, Mysore

“A study to assess the effectiveness of STP on Knowledge of Nursing Personnel regarding Quality Assurance in Nursing Services at K. R. Hospital, Mysore with following objectives. To assess the knowledge of nursing personnel regarding quality assurance in Nursing Services, to conduct STP and to evaluate the effectiveness of STP among Nursing Personnel regarding Quality Assurance in nursing service at K. R. Hospital, Mysore.

The research design selected for the present study is quasi experimental with pre-test and post-test design, The study comprised of 60 Nursing personnel with Purposive sampling technique method was used to draw the sample.

The mean percentage of post-test knowledge scores (84.0%) of subjects were significantly higher than the mean percentage of pre-test score (40.0%) and the computed‘t’ value (t₅₉₌40.10) was greater than the table value (t₅₉=1.96) at 0.05 level of significance. The findings of the Association between the post-test level of Knowledge and selected demographic variables revealed that non-significant in age-χ ² =1.53, P>0.05, designation-χ² = 0.48, P>0.05, religion-χ² =0.02, P>0.05, experience-χ² = 0.22, P>0.05, income/month-χ ² = 0.81, P>0.05, and significant in sex-χ ²=5.92, P<0.05, significant in marital status-χ ²=5.95, P<0.05, education-χ ²=4.60, P<0.05, types of family-χ ²=6.16, P<0.05, the Findings revealed that effectiveness of STP the pre-test knowledge 70.0% (42) of the subjects regarding Quality Assurance in Nursing Services was inadequate, whereas the post-test level of knowledge of 71.7% (43) of subjects was adequate and 28.3% (17) of subjects was moderate. Computed‘t’ value (t₅₉=40.10) is greater than the table value (P<0.05),

the findings of the study revealed that STP has been effective in increasing the knowledge of Nursing Personnel.
