The research approach adopted was quantitative and the study design was cross sectional design. 200 newborns admitted in ICU/Ward who meets the inclusion criteria were selected consecutively. The data of the newborns was collected either by direct observation and by record review. The estimation of blood glucose level [biophysiological method) was done by using standardized glucometer. The findings of the study revealed that 24% of newborns had hypoglycemia within 48hrs of life and also revealed that the incidence of hypoglycemia in newborns was statistically associated with problems with breast feeding.
