Abstract

The aim of this study is to study the various aspects of quality control of 18F-FDG at Army hospital Research and Referral

Totally 100 batch of 18F-FDG quality control were done. A review of the current and recent literature was conducted to evaluate the quality control testing for 18F-FDG. There are various types of quality control like physiochemical and biological. In physiochemical test we have done clarity by visual, pH value by pH paper, Radionuclide identity (for half life) by dose calibrator, Radiochemical identity and purity (for percentage of binding Rf and Kryptofix concentration) by TLC and Chemical purity (for concentration of acetone, acetonitrile, and ethyl alcohol) by GC

Quality control were performed on each batch of 18F-FDG. All sample were found transparent, pH value were acceptable. The average half life was good agreement with half life of 18F. The Rf value and concentration of acetone, acetonitrile, and ethyl alcohol well within the permissible limits prescribed by USP. The K222 test showed no spot.

All quality control parameter of 18F-FDG prepared at Army hospital Research and Referral were well within the permissible limits and provide the highest quality product for patient's injections
