Response to water stress at different growth stages in triticale

Eighteen triticale strains [six each from Punjab Agricultural University (Ludhiana), Indian Agricultural Research Institute (New Delhi) and CIMMYT (Mexico)] along with two triticales (TL419 and TL1210) and one bread wheat (PBW343) as check varieties, were grown under different irrigation levels applied at different growth stages. Genotypes responded differently to irrigation at various stages. TL 1210, ITSN 116 and TL 2925 recorded least reduction in grain yield under irrigation stress and thus, can be efficiently used in triticale improvement programme.
