Eleven Indian mustard genotypes developed from intervarietal and intergeneric crosses through pedigree methods of breeding were raised in 3 environments during rabi 2001–2004 and analysed for phenotypic stability. Genotype x environment (G x E) interaction was significant for all the characters studied. Linear component was significant against pooled deviations for primary and secondary branches/plant, plant height and number of siliquae/plant whereas, for seed yield and days to maturity, non-linear component was significant. Considering high mean performance, unit regression and non-significant mean square deviations, the genotype RSPR 69 was observed to be stable for all characters. This genotype also yielded significantly better than grand mean and the check ‘Pusa Bold’ and was also specifically suitable to better environments for secondary branches/plant and days to maturity. Four genotypes viz., RSPR 64, RSPR 74, RSPR 75 and RSPR 01 were stable for seven characters each. All the eleven genotypes were stable for secondary branches, plant height and main shoot length.
