Abstract

Since the first report describing the placement of dental implants into fresh extraction sockets, there has been an increasing lnterest in the immediate implant insertion and/or loading technique. Appropriate indications, good surgical technique, and the use oI a good prosthetic protocol have resulted inthe success of immediate implantation and immediate loading protocol. Immediale loading in the maxilla is not a routinely recommended treatmenl concept; however, some clinical series have shown a high survival rate lor non-functionally loaded implants. Adverse patient-related factors or an infection in the region of the extraction, are contraindications for this treatment. Based on the result, the immediate loading protocol in the maxilla can be used successfully when implant primary stability, cross-arch stabilization, and aesthetics are considered. This article reports a case of immediate loading of an implant placed in maxillary anterior region with 12 months of clinical follow-up.
