Recognition of sleep disorders has been a challenge for dentist because of nureo psychiatric complexities. Many disorders such as sleep disordered breathing, occlusive breathing result due to underlying circadian pathology. Hence, knowledge of sleep disorders and underlying mechanisms is essential for dentist to recognize sleep associated disorders. Present review attempts to revisit the same in a simplified manner.
