Odontomas are the most common type of odontogenic tumor and is composed of enamel, dentin, cementum and pulp tissue. They are generally asymptomatic, slow growing, often associated with tooth eruption disturbances and discovered during routine radiography. They are usually detected during the first two decades of life. They are either compound or complex type. Generally these malformations are intraosseous, but occasionally they may erupt into the oral cavity. This article is significant as there are very few reports of erupting compound odontoma. We present report of two rare cases of an erupting compound odontoma; with an emphasis on radiographic findings.
