A according to Hulley, (2007) 4 a pilot study is a small scale preliminary study conducted in order to evaluate feasibility, time, cost, adverse events, and consequence (numerical changeability) in an attempt to predict an suitable sample size and progress upon the study design prior to performance of a fullscale research study.
To assess the feasibility of using developed study tools for assessing the knowledge, attitude, knowledge of practices(KAKP) regarding BCC. among pre-service and In-service ANMs at small scale To assess the effectiveness and acceptability of self learning material on BCC for selected RCH issues among pre-service and In-service ANMs at small scale
Researcher developed and validated the tools to assess KAKP, acceptability and intervention as self learning material. Pilot study was conducted to assess the feasibility of using the developed tools and intervention the in two phases for both the study groups separately.
Findings of pilot study reveals that it was feasible to do the KAKP assessment for both the groups. The SLM was effective in increasing the knowledge, knowledge of practices and positive attitude score of both the groups of study. It was acceptable to great extent for all the set criteria.
Findings of the pilot study revealed that It was feasible to conduct the study with the developed tools and intervention. SLM was effective and acceptable to strengthened the concept of BCC for selected RCH issues in terms of knowledge, attitude and knowledge of practices of Pre-service and In-service ANMs.
