To assess the obsessive compulsive symptoms among schizophrenic patients.
To find out the association between obsessive compulsive symptoms among schizophrenic patients with selected demographic variables.
The study was conducted In KS. Hegde. Hospital, Nitte University. Data were collected by 60 schizophrenia in patients with the help of demographic Proforma, Y-BOCS checklist and Y-BOCS rating scale to assess obsessive compulsive symptoms.
The result shows that more than half of the 32 (53.3%) samples were screened to have obsessive compulsive symptoms with majority of them 20(33.3%) were having checking compulsion.
Findings of this study can be used in the psychiatric nursing field which will help the psychiatric nurses to understand the co-existence of other disorders along with schizophrenia.
