To determine the socialization skills of institutionalized children and to find the association between the socialization skills and selected demographic variables.
This study was conducted among 100 institutionalized children between the age group of 12- 16 years. A Social skill rating scale was used to measure the socialization skills.
Majority of the institutionalized children were having good socialization skills as expressed by them in the social skill rating scale. There was significant association between the socialization skills of institutionalized children and the variables like gender, education of the mother, occupation of the mother and the previous knowledge on socialization skills.
The study concluded that the institutionalized children have good socialization skills as expressed by them in the social skill rating scale. The socialization skills of institutionalized children were dependent on the variables like gender, education of the mother, occupation of the mother and the previous knowledge on socialization skills.
