To assess the severity of back pain at regular intervals (2, 4, 6 hours after trans femoral cardiac catheterization) among the experimental and control group.
To assess the local vascular complications at regular intervals (2, 4, 6 hours after trans femoral cardiac catheterization) among the experimental and control group
To compare the outcome of the experimental group with that of the control group.
The study was conducted on patients who underwent Transfemoral cardiac catheterization and exposed to Low Fowler's position within 6 hours after cardiac catheterization to see its effect on back pain and Local vascular complications.
There was significant difference between back pain scores of the experimental and control group at 6 hours.
No significant difference in bleeding scores, hematoma scores and ecchymosis scores was found at 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours between experimental and control group, using Fischers’ exact test.
Low fowlers’ position was effective in reducing the back pain without increasing the local vascular complications at 6 hours in patients who underwent Transfemoral cardiac catheterisation.
