Attitude of colostomates could be positive or negative. Positive attitudes are essential for healthy coping and attitude can be altered through interaction with other persons here in this case the nurses. Fifty nurses working in the surgical oncology ward were enrolled from a comprehensive cancer centre, of selected hospital of New Delhi. The attitude scale consisted of a 15 items addressing nurses’ which was a modified version of the tool developed by Robin Gemmill et al. Findings: Out of 50 nurses 64% had positive attitude whereas 36% had negative attitude towards colostomates/ostomy. Conclusion: There is need to improve upon the attitudes of nurses working with ostomy patients, so that all nurses will participate in patient education.
