Abstract

The work of faculty on department committees is instrumental in accomplishing the goals of a school of nursing. Using the Boyer Model of Scholarship as a backdrop, the Faculty Research and Professional Affairs Committee at Jefferson School of Nursing, Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA, USA, identified three activities, journal clubs, department funding of research, and the sponsorship of a visiting scholarly annually, to support faculty scholarship. Outcomes of implementing scholarship activities are discussed.
