Abstract

The main purpose of induction of labour is to perform safe vaginal delivery before and after completion of term. If such conditions not identified and managed properly it is fatal to mothers as well as fetal life.

To evaluate mean duration of induction delivery time. (Partograph), To calculate incidence of failure rate of induction, To evaluate safety of delivery and fetal outcome after induction of labor, To compare the effect between primi women with multi women in terms of duration of 1st Stage, 2nd stage, maternal &foetal outcome.

Total 110 eligible women included for final analysis. 55 in experimental and 55 in control. In primi mean induction delivery time was 9 hr 22 min, in multi 8hrs 15 min. In primi experimental failure rate was less as compared to control group (p<0.001) in multi experimental failure rate was less as compare to control group (p<0.0436). In both control group women experience nausea and vomiting. In primi and multi 1st stage and 2nd stage duration was statistically not significant in all groups. Very good fetal outcome was observed in all groups.

Application of Prostaglandin E2 gel in women were having good effect on failure rate, duration of labour stages, feto-maternal out come.
