Effectiveness of Structured Teaching Programme on Knowledge Regarding the Impact of Fast Food Consumption among Teenagers

A evaluative approach study was done with one group pre test post test design was adopted to find the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on the impact of fast food consumption among teenagers. The data was collected from teenagers in selected polytechnique college. Most of the teenagers 47% were in the age group of 19 years, 87% revealed that they had no knowledge on the impact of fast food on health. Pre test knowledge score of the teenagers revealed that 60% had poor knowledge, 30% average and only 10% had good knowledge. Post test knowledge score after implementation of structured teaching programme revealed that 80% had good knowledge 20% average knowledge and none of the teenagers had poor knowledge. Pretest mean percentage knowledge score was 24% and after structured teaching programme it became 47.6% showing effectiveness of structured teaching programme. The paired t test score was 10.19 which revealed effectiveness of structured teaching programme. There was no significant association between pre test knowledge score and selected demographic variables.
