There are many complications associated with breastfeeding, which include engorgemement, breast tenderness, sore or painful nipples,plugged ducts and infection of the breast (mastitis). A descriptive study conducted to identify the breastfeeding problems among 100 postnatal mothers at Mangalore. The purposive sampling technique was used to select the participants and the study revealed that the majority of them were hindus between 18–25 years, 72% of them were homemakers, 61% primi mothers, 67% had a normal delivery and 87% had information about breastfeeding through the parents. There is no significant association between the breastfeeding problems and demographic variables. There is no significant association between the breastfeeding problems and demographic variables.
