The present study evaluated the dimensional stability of elastomeric impression material with different consistencies and techniques after time dependent disinfection. Method A standard stainless steel master die was used for making 250 experimental specimen samples with different consistencies. The study impression were immersed for 10,20,30 minutes in aU the three disinfection, i.e. Glutaraldehyde, sodium hypochlorite and iodophor, and then poured with die stone. Measurements were done on stone dies with profile projector and statistical changes analysis when done. Result The two elastomeric material did not show any clinically significant changes when compared with control group while polysulphide material showed statistically significant changes after 20 mins. Immersion in sodium hypochlorite and glutaraldehyde. However, the changes observed in polysulphide were within the clinically acceptable values specified by ADA specification 19.
