Abstract

Sialolithiasis accounts for the most common disease of the salivary glands.Itis characterized by the obstruction of salivary secretion and is associated with pain; swelling and infection of the affected gland. Stones may be found in any of the salivary glands but are most frequently encountered in the submandibular gland and its duct. Presented here is a case report of a 21 year old female Patient who had multiple suhmanmibular duct sialoliths.The siatoliths were removed by an intraoral approach and no postoperative complications were noted. The article also reviewS the various treatment modalities available for management of salivary gland.
