Abstract

Ozone is one of the most important gases in the stratosphere due to its ability to filter UV rays. It has been used in medical field since long due to its strong oxidant property that oxidizes nearly all surfaces to the highest oxidation stage. The elucidation of molecular mechanisms of ozone benefits practical application in dentistry. The ozone therapy has been shown to be more beneficial than present conventional therapeutic modalities. This state of the art technology allows us to take a minimally invasive and conservative approach to dental treatment. This paper discusses the role of ozone therapy in different types of dental problems.
