Abstract

Tooth discoloration is a significant cosmetic and functional problem caused due to various etiologies. Non-vital teeth secondary to trauma or infection, fluorosis, tetracycline staining, amelogenesis, dentinogenesis imperfecta have been reported to be the prime causes for discolored teeth. Careful diagnosis, examination, thorough understanding of reasons of discoloration and selection of appropriate modality of treatment is imperative to success of treatment to fulfill esthetics and functional demand of patients.
