“Dentigerous cyst- A case report”

A dentigerous cyst is the one that encloses the crown of an unerupted tooth by expansion of its follicle, and is attached to its neck. Before tooth eruption, if the fluid accumulates between the Reduced Enamel epithelium and the crown of the tooth "Dentigerous or Follicular cyst" is formed. Usually the patient are asymptomatic but are diagnosed when radiographs are taken for other purpose but sometimes the cyst grows to considerable size and produce bony expansion. Herewith a case report of a male patient aged 40 yrs reported to the Department of Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Radiology of D.J college of Dental Sciences and Research, Modinagar with the chief complaint of swelling & pain in the lower front region with gradual increase in the size of swelling since last 2 months. On clinical examination swelling in relation to the missing 43 was seen intraorally. After complete examination & investigations it was diagnosed as "Dentigerous cyst in the region of 43".
