Abstract

This study was conducted to see the role of Yoga in improving lipid profile in diabetic subjects.

Out of 77 patients of diabetes, 36 were in group 1(control group) and 41 patients were in group 2nd (study group). Yogic exercises were practiced by study group for 3 continuous months.

In this study significant improvement in lipid profile was found i.e triglyceride decreased from 151.15±23.92 mg/dl to 123.17±29.31 mg/dl (p <0.001) and HDL increased from 38.67±6.51 mg/dl to 46.51±5.51 mg/dl (p<0.001). When both control and study group were compared after 3 months a significant statistical improvement was found TG (t=4.40;p <0.001), HDL (t=-6.670; p <0.001) respectively.

There is significant improvement in various lipid profile in diabetic subjects.
