The effects of enhanced external counter pulsation as a natural bypass in patients of angina pectoris and its relationship with ejaction fraction and quality of life

Abstract

Ischemic heart disease is considered as one of the most common, serious and life threatening diseases. The prevalence of the disease is increasing all over the world and it is predicted to turn into the first cause of death by 2020.(1)

EECP is a mechanical, outpatient and noninvasive procedure in which pneumatic cuffs, similar to those in blood pressure instrument, are tied on both legs of the patient.

Investigating subscales related to the physical component consisting physical functioning, role limitations due to physical problems, bodily pain, and general health indicates positive effects of EECP on patients’ physical status. In this study out of all 60 subjects we randomly selected 10 patients for ejection fraction test out of 10 patients 9 were showing improved EF.
