Effect of short term physical education training programme on tactile sensitivity of the skin

Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of short tern physical Education training programme on tactile sensitivity of the skin. Only one hundred Physical Education college students (boys) doing B.P. Ed from different physical Education college of West Bengal, whose age ranged between 22 to 27 years were selected and undergone the physical Education training prognmune in their respeclive colleges under the guidance ofthe teachers of that institute. Tactile sensitivity was measured by Aesthesiometer for this study. The training classes were conducted mostly for five days a week for four months and were divided into two sessions, one was in the morning and the other in the evening with the duration of one thirty five minutes in each session as the information gathered from the authority of the institute. Paired t’test was applied to investigate the existence of significant difference between pre and post test phases of the effect of twelve weeks exercise programme. In conclusion improvement was found after twelve weeks of experimental training programme and the differcnce was statistically significant. Exercise not only gives health life style but also improve the skin sensitivity, so exercise is strongly recommendcd.
