The purpose of the study was to assess the effects of the eight weeks speed (slow and Jast running of medium intensity) training all differelll surfaces of field hockey. Total I 20 females in between age 18 to 23 years on their enrolment for graduate course were selected. Pre-test data of all the subjects were collected before the training protocol. The selected subjects were divided illlo four groups control group was designated as Group A; the second group was named Group-B for training all chat groulld; the third Group-C was to be trained all grass ground and tire fourth group named Group-D was chosell to be trained Jar training on turf surface. Five days perweekspeed training was followed by three groups B, C and D all different surfaces for eight weeks, whereas control group was not given any training. The duration of every week workout was initially 40 to 50 minutes. Posttest data of all the subjects were collected after the completion ofeight weeks. To find the significance difference between the groups analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was applied. In case if the F-rotio for adjusted post test mean was foulld sigllificant, the Bonferroni post-hoc test was applied to determined the paired differences between adjusted final mean. For the analysis. the level of significant was fixed at 0.05. There was a significant difference found betweem the two pairs of meall i.e. control-turf and chat-turf as the obtained P-value wem less than 0.05. The reslills of the study shows general training of slow and fast running of medium illtensity call improve speed performance of female hockey players is better on turf surface in comparison to the chat ground.
