Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the anatomical regions which are affected by injuries in selected five major sports i.e., Basketball, Football, Volleyball, Handball and Hockey among the students of LNIPE, Gwalior in selected seven months of the year 2018–2019 (July 2018 to January 2019). A total of 258 students were part of this study. Both kind of injures were included in this study minor as well as major injuries. The maximum occurrence of injured athletes is in volleyball followed by football, hockey, basketball and handball. Also, the most common region affected by injury is back in every sport followed by knee, thigh, ankle and shoulder. Sports injuries are part of sports in total but they affect the performance of player to a great extent. In order to put a great show at higher levels there is a need to focus and control these injuries.
