The influence of step length training on college students sprint speed

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of consciously increasing step length training in sprint training and students frequent fast frequency sprint training on the sprint speed of 50 meters. Methods: We recruited 24 subjects (male 12, female 12) with untrained experience were for 10-week sprint training. The subjects were divided into two groups: the experimental group12 (male 6, female 6) and the control group12 (male 6, female 6), experimental group were trained consciously to increase their step length, and the control group (12 male 6, female 6) do the usual fast frequency sprint training. Results: After training, there was a significant difference in sprint speed between boys and girls in the experimental group compared to the 50m sprint speed before training (P<0.01), boys in the control group showed very significant improvement after training (P<0.01), the increase of girls was also statistically significant (P<0.05); In the experimental group, both male and female steps increased significantly (P<0.05), there was no significant increase in male and female in the control group (P>0.05); There was no significant increase in step frequency after training in both the experimental and control groups (P>0.05).Conclusion: Improved step length training helps students increase their 50-meter sprint speed.
