Abstract

Meta-analysis was conducted to explore the effect of outdoor exercise time on adolescent vision.

Literature retrieval was performed in four databases (PubMed, EMbase, CNKI and Wan Fang databases), and cross-sectional studies that met inclusion and exclusion criteria were included. Meta-analysis was performed using Stata 15.1 software, and the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (CI) values of the included studies were combined using a random effect model. Subgroup analysis was also conducted according to the regions included in the literature.

A total of 7 crosssectional studies were included, and regular visits to a total of 10,742 cross-sectional patients were followed up. Metaanalysis results showed that (OR =0.67, 95%CI = 0.51-0.84, I2 =96.6%, heterogeneity p=0.000), that is, increasing the time of outdoor activities had a significant protective effect on the risk of myopia.

Increasing the time of outdoor activities can better prevent myopia
