Correlation-ship of playing ability with body length segments of Tribal girls of Himachal Pradesh India

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the correlation-ship between anthropometric characteristic of length segments and playing ability of volleyball girls’ tribal area of Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh at the ages of 14 to 17 years old.

Length segments (Forearm length, Upper arm length, Hand length, Total arm length, Sitting height length, Total leg length, Lower leg length, Thigh length, Foot length) and playing ability tests (Volleying, Serving, Passing (Right), Passing (Left), Set-up (Right), Set- up (Left) find out Correlation-ship between these two variables took place, in each of the groups based on age (14 to 17 years old).

Statistical analysis shown positive significant correlation between anthropometric characteristic of length segments and playing abilities.

Researcher has formulated the Null hypotheses.

The present study supports the conclusion that at the ages of 14 to 17years. Further research should be made taking into consideration the similar type of study may be conducted on school girls of volleyball players at all ages.
