Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess how Fartlek training (FT), Slow Continuous Training (SCT), and Combine Endurance Training (CET) improved well Tripura’s district-level football players’ vital capacity, and in control group (CG). The study included 120 male footballers from various regions of Tripura who were purposively chosen as subjects. Equal numbers of subjects (n = 30) were randomly assigned to each of the experimental groups (Fartlek, Slow Continuous, and their combinations, as well as the Controlled Group). The data regarding physiological response, i.e., vital capacity, were acquired using the Spirometry test with a Dry Spirometer. The data were analysed using covariance and mean difference methods. The results of this study revealed that the Fartlek training programs was most effective in improving vital capacity of district level football players in Tripura as its adjusted mean (2762.35) is higher than the adjusted mean of slow continuous training (2628.13) and combine endurance training (2690.50) respectively.
