Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of circuit training on abdominal strength among beginner Volleyball players. For this purpose, thirty male players (n = 30) from various government and self-financing colleges of Gujarat University situated in Kalol Taluka were selected. The participants were divided into two equal groups of fifteen players each: an experimental group (Circuit Training Group-I, CTG) and a control group (Control Group-II, CG). The experimental group underwent an eight-week circuit training program, while the control group did not participate in any specific training intervention. Abdominal strength was chosen as the criterion variable and was assessed using the bent knee situp test. The data were analyzed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA), with a significance level set at p ≤ 0.05. The results revealed a significant improvement in abdominal strength among the circuit training group compared to the control group, demonstrating the effectiveness of circuit training in enhancing abdominal strength.
