Effect of ladder training with and without yogic practice on leg explosive power of college level men basketball players

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the “Effect of ladder training and combination of ladder training with yogic training on leg explosive power of college level men basketball players” To achieve the purpose of the study 45 players selected from Arulanandhar College Karumathur and Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College in Sivakasi. Tamilnadu. The study was formulated as pre and post-test random group design, in which 45 players were divided in to three equal groups. Each group consists of 15 subjects. Group I underwent ladder training for 3 days per weeks for Six weeks. Group II underwent combination of ladder training with yogic training for 3 days per weeks for six weeks. Group III acted as control group that did not participate in any special training programme apart from their regular activities as per their curriculum. The data were collected for all the groups of physical variable leg explosive power by using the standardized test items. The data were collected from the three groups two days prior to and two days after the training programme on selected dependent variables as pre and post-tests. The selected pre and post test data were analyzed with one way analysis of covariance. The level of significance was fixed at 0.05 levels.
