Abstract

The present study was to investigate the effect of Aerobic dance on lipids and lipoproteins of middle-aged women. Twenty female subjects were selected randomly from port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Island. They were divided into two groups of ten subjects each out of which group I (n=10), and Group II (n=10) acted as control and experimental group. The experimental group underwent Aerobic dance and control group did not attend any special training. The experimental design of this study was random group design. In this statistical analysis the pre, post and adjusted post test means of control and experimental groups were tested for significance by applying ANCOVA. In all the cases, to test the significance, 0.05 level of confidence was used. The result of the study indicates that the HDL cholesterol of experimental group increased significantly compared with their control group and significant decrease in triglycerides and LDL cholesterol levels due to Aerobic dance.
