Present investigation was carried out in order to “identify the effect of menstrual cycle on Aerobic capacity of female Athletes. A total of 10 subjects (female athletes) aged ranged from 17 to 21 yrs., from the departments of Physical Education, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib and The females of hockey Academy running under the same university was acted as a participants in the study. It was taken into consideration that the personnel information would be kept confidential during the data collection. With the help of a female Phd Scholar in the department, The data was taken in different phases i.e. prior to the menstrual cycle or pre data was taken before the menstrual cycle, followed by the second day of the Menstrual Cycle or during the Menstrual Cycle and at last after the Menstrual Cycle, again the aerobic capacity of the female athletes was measured by using the Cooper's 9 mints. Run and walk test. The obtained data was analyzed by applying descriptive statistics and ANOVA (one way analyses of variance) at level of significance 0.05. Results indicate that a significant difference was found in the aerobic capacity of female athletes in the different phases of Menstrual Cycle But to know which of the specific Phase differed among three Phases, we can find this out in the Multiple Comparisons Table which contains the results of post-hoc tests. So, a Post hoc comparison needs to be done.
The post hoc test shows that a significant difference was found in the aerobic Capacity of Pre Menstrual and During Menstrual, also a significant difference was found in the aerobic capacity of Pre Menstrual and Post Menstrual Cycle, Whereas, an significant difference was found in the aerobic Capacity of During Menstrual and Post Menstrual Cycle.
