Abstract

Lifestyle factors are considered to be as potential risk factors associated with childhood overweight and obesity. Life style pattern among adolescent plays an important part in the academic excellence, family relationship, social relationship and health aspect also. The researcher in the study have gone through the life style pattern of sedentary and sports participants adolescents. The data for the study was collected from 100 subjects (i.e. 50 sports participants and 50 sedentary adolescents). For implementing two sample t-test, equality of variance was tested out. F-value.334 was found to be insignificant as the p-value.565 was greater than 0.05, thus accepting the equality of variance among the unrelated group. The calculated p-value was less at 0.05 level of significance. So null hypothesis was rejected and it was concluded that there is difference in life style pattern between adolescents sports participants and sedentary adolescents. To test out the second hypothesis i.e lifestyle pattern of adolescents sports participants was higher than that of the sedentary adolescents, one-tailed test was used. The calculated t-value 3.713 at 98(df) and o.o5 level of significance was higher than the tabulated value 1.64. Thus coming out with a conclusion that life style pattern among adolescent sports participants was higher than the sedentary adolescents.
