A Study of Find Out Socio-Economic Status of Wrestlers Studying in Nagpur University

The present problem seeks to identify scientifically and systematically study the socioeconomical status and demographic factors among wrestlers. 75 male wrestlers studying in Nagpur University were randomly selected for the study. A survey was designed to find out the socio-economic status level of wrestlers. A questionnaire developed by Gordhan Singh (2001) was used for the collection of data, to find out the socio economic status of wrestlers, the simple technique of means & percentage were employed to compare the status among the wrestlers. The study shows the 56% wrestlers came from middle socio economic status 35% from low socio economic status and only 9% from high socio economic status. Therefore we can say that only a few wrestlers comes from high socio economic status families.
