The present study was an attempt to find out the difference in level of stress sportspersons having high and low level of socio-economic status. A number of 300 sportspersons (150 male + 150 female) among the three Universities of Haryana were taken as a sample on the basis of purposive sampling method. The Bisht Battery of Stress Scales (B.B.S.S.) by Abha Rani Bisht and the Socio-Economic Status Scale Questionnaire (SESSQ) by Kalia and Sahoo was used to collect the data. Keeping in view the objectives of the study, the data so collected was statistically analysed by using Mean, Standard Deviation and ‘t’ test techniques. The findings of the study were: (i) Female university sportspersons are more stressed in comparison to male university sportspersons; (ii) Male university sportspersons having low socio-economic status are more stressed in comparison to male university sportspersons having high socio-economic status; (iii) Female university sportspersons having low socio-economic status are more stressed in comparison to male university sportspersons having low socio-economic status; and (iv) Female university sportspersons having low socio-economic status are more stressed in comparison to male university sportspersons having high socio-economic status
