Effect of ladder training with and without yogic practice on performance variable of college level men basketball players

Abstract

Physical education and training organized instruction in motor activities will contribute to the physical growth, health, and body image of the individual. The historical roots of physical education go back as far as the ancient Chinese. 2500 B.C, who had a well-developed system of exercise and physical training. The subjects were randomly selected from S.V.N College, Nagamalai Puthukottai, Arul Anandar College, Karumathur and Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College in Sivakasi. The age groups of the subjects were between 18 to 21 years. Forty five men basketball players were selected and the subjects were divided into three groups consist of 15 subjects. S.V.N College acted as ladder training Arul Anandar College acted as combination of ladder training with yogic training group (group II). Ayya Nadar Janaki Ammal College acted as Control group (group III).Each subject was oriented in the procedure to the administration of the test.
