The goal of study was to examine the effects of low intensity plyometric training combined with stretching exercises on cardio respiratory endurance of school children. To achieve the purpose of the study, forty five junior school going children in the age group of 12 to 14 years were selected, as subjects at random from Alagappa sports foundation, Karaikudi, TamilNadu. The study was formulated as pre and posttest random group design, in which forty five subjects were divided into three equal groups. The experimental group-1 undergone (n=15, LIPT-ST) for low intensity plyometric training with static stretching, the experimental group-2 (n=15, LIPT-DT) undergone for low intensity plyometric training with dynamic stretching and group -3 (n=15, CG) served as control purpose. In this study, two training programme were adopted as independent variables and the cardio respiratory endurance was selected as dependent variable and it was measured by 9minutes run or walk test, the performance of the subject were recorded in meters. The two intervention groups were performed three alternative days in a week for twelve weeks. The collected pre and post data was critically analyzed with dependent ‘t’- test and one-way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). Whenever the F-ratio, found to be significant the Scheffe's test was applied for determine the paired mean differences. The level of confidence was fixed at 0.05 levels for all the cases in order to find out the significance. The result clearly proved that the low intensity plyometric training with dynamic stretching demonstrated greater improvement on explosive power than the low intensity plyometric training with static stretching.
