Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to find out the effects of concurrent strength and endurance training on explosive power. To achieve this purpose of the study, thirty school children from Kendriya Vidyalaya 1, Gandhinagar, Gujrat were randomly selected as subjects. The age of the subjects ranged between 15 to 17 years. The selected subjects were divided into three groups of ten subjects each. Group-I designed strength training before endurance training (SbE), Group-II designed strength training after endurance training (SaE) and Group-III acted as control group did not participate in any special training programme apart from their regular activities. The data was collected at prior to and after the training programme of twelve weeks. Explosive power was chosen as a criterion variable. The analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) was used to analyse the data. The results of the study revealed that the explosive power was significantly improved due to the concurrent strength and endurance training.
